Hilary Sutton is a Washington D.C. based writer, consultant, and speaker who is passionate about telling stories that are begging to be told. She is a freelance writer for hire with expertise in direct response copywriting and content marketing. She is also an avid researcher on cultivating not only a flourishing career, but a flourishing life. She investigates and shares her findings through writing, speaking, coaching, and on her podcast, Hustle & Grace with Hilary Sutton. Hilary is an Enneagram 7 whose mind lives somewhere between marketer, journalist, and creative.
Hilary has worked with clients ranging from Broadway shows, to nonprofits large and small, creatives of all stripes, and consumer brands. Hilary has six years of experience in the college classroom, most recently at Southern New Hampshire University where she taught social media, journalism, and communication courses. Over the years she has written over a thousand blog posts and 100 published articles in dozens of publications including USA Today and The Washington Post.
In 2013 Hilary started a blog to explore social media, creativity, personal development, and writing. Two years later she launched HSL Enterprises Courses to provide workshop-style teaching around concepts that had grown popular on her blog. She is the author of three courses, two eBooks, and two keynotes including More in Less: 21 Productivity Hacks for Creatives, Blogging: Grow Your Business with Content, Going Freelance: How to Launch, Market, and Build Your Creative Career, Get Your Dream Off the Ground, Conquering Fear in the Creative Process, and Building a Personal Brand that Will Propel Your Career.
Hilary lives in the Washington D.C. Metro Area with her husband and daughter. She loves running the amazing trails in Virginia, Broadway shows, and red velvet cake.
